A good tough jacket to see you through the changeable phase, if the cut fits

Endura’s Air Defence slips neatly into the cheaper end of the softshell class of jjackets. The substantial windproof, water-resistant fabric keeps out all but the worst downpours, and the brushed back shifts sweat and feels positively decadent on chilly days.

Pit zips help keep you cool, but the cut’s a bit odd – the length in the body and arms doesn’t continue to the collar.

The breast pocket has a media port to keep earbud cables tidy and two Scotchlite-topped rear pockets make good stash space.

The main zip is baffled and the others are splashproof types.

Simple bound cuffs cut out unnecessary bulk and fit neatly.
