Not cycling-specific, but could be a worthy addition to your wardrobe

This lightweight jacket by Helly Hansen has a unique air pocket system designed to keep you at a comfortable temperature.

There are two hand pockets, elasticated cuffs, a soft collar and a full-length zip. Although the outer polyester shell isn’t waterproof it holds off showers and dries quickly. It’s the lining that impressed us though.

Behind the wicking mesh lining is brushed Polartec fleece with varying size air pocket perforations designed to trap air next to the body. The result is a garment that works in a similar way to down jackets, but without the bulk. The 13in zipped vents that run down both sides of the chest quickly fill the jacket with cool air, allowing you to retain heat when you want and flush it out when you don’t.

Although not cut for cycling, it works well as a mid or outer layer, and can be stuffed into a riding pack easily enough.
