Eco heroes Howies stay stereotyped with this semi sheep-powered, high performance softshell.
The wind and shower bleeting (sorry beating) outside is a complete skin of Schoeller 3XDry fabric, while the inside is a merino wool mix. Most water just runs off the outside and we didn't notice any weather seeping through. It wicks extremely well and stays consistently warm but not too hot, despite there being no thin panels on the back.
Prickly initial feel is soon got used to and the Merino element keeps it at body temperature rather than chilly even when you're sodden. It still doesn't stink after weeks of riding either. All round protection, pod pocket, massive map sized pockets and double ended front zip add to all round appeal, which only leaves the cost...
