Pearl Izumi Octane jacket review
The soft-to-touch Octane doesn’t feel as substantial as most jackets but don’t let this lightweight small packer fool you. Its taped four-way stretch Optik-WxB material is both wind- and waterproof as well as being extremely breathable.
It has a tight fitting cross-country racers’ cut, with a high front and extra long back, although this can be poppered out of the way on dry days.
A thin mesh layer has been used on the arms to prevent direct contact with the outer material to avoid that damp sweaty feeling.
This minimalist jacket has no external pockets and comes with a removable hood, making it a perfect jacket for stuffing in your pocket, emergencies or when weight is crucial.
