Fiddly left-hand zip spoils this lightweight windproof

At 107g (medium), including its stuff sack, the Oxylite windproof weighs the same as an average gilet and packs down just as small.

It’s a just-in-case jacket, made of lightweight rip-stop nylon which keeps the wind off effectively, though shower resistance is so-so.

Mesh side panels aid breathability, and there’s a draw-corded hem, dropped tail, thumb loops and a full-length zip with storm flap.

It’s a pity, for the 90 percent of the population who’ll fumble it, that the zip is left-handed. The cut is rather loose for cycling so we’d recommend going down a size. It’s available in ice white or pewter, and sizes S-XXL.
