A solid excuse for wearing your sunglasses at night – though some may find it a bit on the toasty side

In case it’s passed you by, neon colours are HUGE on the mountain bike scene this year, and if anyone could make hi-vis desirable, it was a sure bet it would be Race Face. (Note to more retiring types – this jacket does come in black too.)

The material used on the Team Chute has a robust, substantial feel and the well designed shape of the hood and collar give a properly protected feel. That’s underlined by a relaxed fit that’ll go over everything, a lower cut back and the comfort of a fleece-lined collar.

For all that ‘constructed’ quality, the jacket is surprisingly soft and flexible to wear, not advertising its durable nature with a crackle at every turn. It is warm though, and we found ourselves making maximum use of the pit zips.
