Performance parka delivers maximum protection and style but at a huge cost

Scott make full use of cutting edge softshell technology in their minimalist-styled Ltd Soft Shell Windproof performance jacket.

Using GoreTex's latest thin - but still protective - soft cloth gives them a performance headstart to a very light and mobile jacket. Wicking and breathability is boosted by small mesh gilled armpit zip vents, but it's not as airy as the Endura.

The generous sleeves close neatly with fancy rubber Velcro tabs, the drawcorded body is really long for great arse/off-bike coverage and you even get a detachable hood as well. Scott have definitely taken a minimalist view on storage though, with just a chest pod pocket and a 'light items only' stash on the sleeve. This does help to keep it light, but most testers thought a back pocket or two would have been a bonus.
