Adidas adiStar CP Wind Vest review

Just like last year's Wind Vest, this is a lightweight gilet for hard-riding roadies, and looks great, too. The front and shoulders are made from a thin polyester called ClimaProof, while the back is mesh.

Close cut, lightweight and effective. A good choice for the chain gang

Just like last year's Wind Vest, this is a lightweight gilet for hard-riding roadies, and looks great, too. The front and shoulders are made from a thin polyester called ClimaProof, while the back is mesh. It's close cut thanks to stretchy side panels, and draughts are kept out by the snugly elasticated armholes and hem.

Only the collar is cut loose, and because of that you don't feel the benefit of its microfleece lining. There's a storm flap for the zip, and despite the Wind Vest's low weight, it's an effective barrier to the wind. Heat, on the other hand, escapes easily: there's all that mesh on the back, and the ClimaProof panel across the shoulder blades is vented like a race cape. Features include reflective sides - the Adidas three-stripe design - and an open stuff pocket in the lower back, which the gilet can pack into. It's also fine for storing arm warmers or gloves.
