Altura Altitude Baggies review

Despite the name, the Alturas aren't too baggy and are relatively short in length, with a mere 10in inseam. They're agood-looking cut and are available in three trail-friendly colour combinations. The material is lightweight and breathable, and there's the same attention to detail as with the three-quarter lengths at the waist, with two press-studs, belt loops and Velcro tabs for a comfortable fit, though it's slightly tight round the waist.

Baggy on detail, but not on design

Despite the name, the Alturas aren't too baggy and are relatively short in length, with a mere 10in inseam.

They're a good-looking cut and are available in three trail-friendly colour combinations. The material is lightweight and breathable, and there's the same attention to detail as with the three-quarter lengths at the waist, with two press-studs, belt loops and Velcro tabs for a comfortable fit, though it's slightly tight round the waist. Stowage space is covered by two relatively deep front pockets and two Velcro-tabbed side pockets. The inner short has a mesh lining and the chamois is complete with channels to help with ventilation. All good stuff. Our only disappointment was with the pad itself - although comfortable, it was rather large and nappy-like, and has yet to settle down after several rides and washes.
