Good looking off the bike, but how about on it?

Too much fabric means these shorts just don't measure up where it matters most – the trail

These shorts have a cotton-like feel and a slouchy board-short quality that makes them look good off the bike, plus a flat crotch panel that means you can wear them without padding for pub jaunts without being rubbed up the wrong way by seams. Unfortunately, that casual attitude results in too much short once you’re on the bike.

The Dakines' long rise means there’s an excess of fabric through the front, which in turn means the short legs pull on your thighs when you pedal. We like the high-backed waist but otherwise are left cold by these shorts.

If your riding doesn’t involve much pedalling, your feelings may be warmer, though we’d ditch the liner, which both resembles and fits like a pair of bloomers.
