Alp-X GT Three Quarter shorts (11)
The unifying thread that runs through all the Gore clothing that we’ve tested is the attention that’s paid to the shape of the rider on the bike. And so it is with this three-quarter style – the articulation of the leg is very right. We thought they were going to be too tight, but looking at the side profile and the cut that gives more volume at the front we understood why they feel just right when we’re pedalling. The knee dips lower at the front, with side tabs that can be pulled in.
The fabric is Gore-Tex Paclite, a proven waterproof with good breathability and light packable weight. For anyone that loves the fabric but worries about the lasting quality at over £100 a pop, there is an extensive reinforced section through the seat and down the inside of the legs that has a reassuringly hard wearing quality. Stretch over the knees helps movement, and completes the impression of high quality manufacturing. We’re less keen on the elasticated waist – it’s hard to secure and doesn’t have the legs’ shaping qualities.
