Calling these shorts 'Path' doesn't exactly conjure up a premium performance image, but these 90 quid Gore Bike lederhosen really are at the leading edge. For a start, the liner is a nine-panel Lycra and stretch mesh short with a top-quality, multi-piece 3D moulded pad that's the best we've used in a baggy.
It's loosely attached with press stud loops so you whip it out and install a fresh liner, or just use the shell - which is stuffed with detail too. The whole inner leg and gusset is a super durable rough textured grip fabric, with soft lined hem and stretch panels above for comfort. The main fabric shrugs off showers and puddle splashes, it wicks okay from inside out, plus there are zipped mesh-lined vents running from hip to hem on both legs.
There's a full zip fly, adjustable side straps, two zipped hand and a central zipped rear pocket and twin cargo pockets. Easily enough to make £90 seem a very fair price.
