Pearl Izumi Divide review

These shorts feature a sewn-in liner and they look great, with clean lines and a stretchy cut that's halfway between baggy and skin-tight lycra shorts. There's something nice about easily pulling on the whole lot in one go, and they feel super-light and comfy.

Good-looking style that’s more beach cruising in substance

There's something nice about easily pulling on the whole lot in one go, and they feel super-light and comfy. But on the bike it becomes clear that this style is more suited to beach cruising than tearing up the trails.

Unless you ride very upright, the pad's in the wrong place, exposing your tenderest parts to very close saddle contact, and the legs ride up into an unbecoming hot-pants styling that gives more than the odd flash of the liner. Keep them for nipping to the pub or riding around town. A women's version is also available.
