Our review
Versatile knicker-style baggy that performs on the bike and looks good off it too

The Launch is definitely one of those ‘better on than off’ styles. Plus, it achieves that tricky combination of being a pair of shorts you can wear casually around town but that also does the business when you hit the trails.

The urban acceptability comes from the fabric, which has a substantial feel and a smart herringbone weave, but nevertheless pedals light. It has plenty of stretch so that when you do want to ride in anger, you don’t feel restricted.

A removable mesh liner underpins the shorts. The chamois has enough plush for comfort and features flex channels that ensure it moulds to your shape, keeping it bulk-free – bad ones have all the poise of an adult diaper when you’re off the bike, so we appreciate this greatly. Grip-free hems are the icing on the cake for casual use.

We liked the outer shell enough to wear it off the bike, and the liner made many comfy outings under other baggies. The Launch is great – very versatile and worth spending the extra money on.
