The RSX is a tale of two shorts – the liner and the outer. The inner is very good indeed. It’s held in place by side loops (snip to remove them) and the mesh fabric is light and extremely comfortable to wear.
It also has the highest-specced pad we tested, with seamless flex channels, lots of plush at the rear and a very soft section up front. It was more like riding in performance skin shorts. But the outer short was too big compared to the fit of the inner.
Pulling the waist in just gave the whole thing a nappy-ish feeling, which is never good. The fabric combination of heavier duty where you need it, forgiving stretch and mesh inserts is good otherwise, but the fit discrepancy really does let the short down.
