With fit and form garnered from working with the Wiggle Honda women’s team and other pro level athletes, the ASV range certainly delivers a far leaner cut than standard DHB garments. It is well worth heeding the advice on the Wiggle website to size up compared with normal DHB. However, they are still larger than some Italian brands, so do also bear this in mind.

Once you have the sizing sorted, you’re rewarded with very good fit and plenty of features. A decent level insert only falls down in comparison to the very best after a minimum three or four hours in the saddle, and not many bib shorts can beat the deep, colour-coded grippers for security.
Only the 210g/m(2) Lycra fabric gave us any issues. It makes for a light short, both in weight and feel, but it can snag more easily than more robust garments – so keep it away from sharp edges and hedgerows.
