Knox Cross Sports Shorts review

Hips and thighs are areas that most riders overlook when it comes to protection, but I've injured mine more than once. The Knox Cross Shorts offer hip and thigh protection and feature three removable (via zip pockets) pads.

Well thought-out protection but check compatibility with your kneepads

Hips and thighs are areas that most riders overlook when it comes to protection, but I've injured mine more than once. The Knox Cross Shorts offer hip and thigh protection and feature three removable (via zip pockets) pads so that the shorts can be washed.

A good fit is ensured through the use of a stretch mesh construction, which also means the pads stay in place around your legs. An elastic waistband with a single popper fastening stops the shorts dropping off or shifting around while you're riding. The thigh pads are strategically cut away to aid movement, although I rode with the coccyx pad removed, which gave me a better feel on the saddle. The shorts also interfered slightly with my current kneepads but this was cured by using a knee/shin combo.
