Lovely socks, but we weren’t convinced by all the technical claims

If you're wondering why you’d need to compress your feet during races, don’t worry – that’s not the point of these socks. The 3D dots covering the heel, Achilles tendon area and ball of the foot are designed to increase circulation, absorb shock, regulate temperature by allowing air to circulate round the feet, and add grip to stop the foot slipping inside the shoe.

There are bike- and run-specific versions and we tried both. They’re really well-made, well-fitting socks with no annoying seams, and they kept our feet cool when sweaty and warm when it was cold outside. It was hard to discern much effect from the 3D dots on the bike – they’re just a comfortable pair of socks. On the run we did like the massaging effect, which was pretty noticeable, and appreciated the extra grip that stopped the socks bunching up.
