The zipped bib provides good insulation up top, stirrups anchor the ankles in place, and the seams avoid the prominent tendons behind your knees.

You don’t get a proper seatpad, just double-thickness material in that area, so you’ll need shorts underneath. A water-repellent treatment helps stop road spray, but you’ll need to reapply it after several washes.
