Get yourself some winter warmth without the chilly breeze of a big budget hit

The Bib 3Quartz falls between a multi-panel construction and unshaped tights in that it has six panels. It hasn’t got the refined fit of some more expensive styles but gives a better look and feel than simple four-panel types.

If it's going under baggies it doesn’t feel like too much of a compromise at this price, plus the flatlocked seams are a feature that we associate with a more expensive specification. The fabric is good – brushed and warm inside plus nicely matte on the outside, with no Lycra shine to scare woodland animals.

The use of the brushed fabric extends up through the bib section – if you suffer with what your Gran would call ‘cold kidneys’ it has a cosily protected feel. That said, we didn’t overheat on milder days and it wicked pretty well.

The pad has a Coolmax cover and features an antibacterial treatment and the wide interface between pad and short ensures it doesn’t move around too much, but we felt that the pad could have been bigger. Overall, the Bib 3Quartz delivers a lot of comfort for the price.
