24Seven Dark Angel SL frame review

24Seven's Dark Angel dirt jumping rig is a classic, having made an enormous impact on the scene when it first appeared in the late 90s. There are already two incarnations of the bike, and now here's a third.

Lightweight, with up-to-date dirt bike geometry

24Seven's Dark Angel dirt jumping rig is a classic, having made an enormous impact on the scene when it first appeared in the late 90s. There are already two incarnations of the bike, and now here's a third.

The SL takes the winning formula of the current Dark Angel V24 (for 24in wheels) shaves a bit of weight and tweaks the geometry to where the current generation of dirt frames are heading. That means a slightly longer top tube and a very tight back end.

Plenty of real-world testing has been done on the SL - it's currently the full time ride of 24seven's Sam Pilgrim. It's only available as a frame (although 24seven will do custom builds) and it features an integrated headset and a mid size bottom bracket with adaptors for either 19 or 22mm axles. It also has retro graphics and a lifetime warranty.
