Not cheap but tough custom creations with a lifetime warranty

Curtis has been hand-crafting immaculate custom frames in the UKsince 1972, so it knows its alchemic art inside out.

The T45 is a tough cookie rather than a twangy lightweight. It’s built from the same steel that was used to produce the chassis of the Thrust II land speed record-breaking car. You can have it built up in any shape, fork compliance or steering balance you like, not to mention various Rohloff/singlespeed transmission options. You can even request custom stamped dropouts with your initials or nickname, should you want.

While the Curtis might seem a bit pricey, it may well be your perfect bike. Free frame repair for life means this really might be the last frame you’ll ever buy, too (although you do have to pay for the paint and stickers). That’s enough to make the full 853 version for £849 look tempting, too.
