Tough and technically adept, tight and lively at a good price

This UK designed, Reynolds steel tubed technician from Genesis Bikes is fully tooled-up to join the radical riding arms race.

Reynolds 853 is one of the highest grade steels available. It hardens around the welds to increase strength where most steels weaken, creating a tough frame.

This is reinforced by open-backed gussets, a ringed head tube and a top tube/seat tube bridge. You also get ISCG, bottle and Crud Catcher mounts, and the slim, tapered ‘A-braced’ stays are heavier gauge for increased strength.

The Alptitude's weight is good for cross-country riding, it's enthusiastically sprung without being too whippy and it’s well priced for a Reynolds frame.

The 66.5-degree head angle is designed for confidence on steep, fast descents and is lower and shorter than that of Genesis’s Altitude frame to allow easier body movement.
