Our review
Relatively expensive and weighty, but it's surefooted and a joy to ride

The Orange P7 is a sure-footed ride that’s ready for anything. The main tubes are made from air-hardened Reynolds 631 steel, and the kinked and crimped rear stays give mud room for tyres up to 2.4in.

The head tube is ring-reinforced, the frame can take a fork with up to 140mm (5.5in) of travel and there are reinforcing plates around the bottle and Crud Catcher mudguard mounts.

The bottom bracket has ISCG tabs, and sliding dropouts simplify singlespeed setup, but there are no tensioning screws and the bent plate hose guides look cheap for a £460 frame.

The P7 has gained weight to meet CEN criteria, making it a little lardy for the price, at 2,740g (6.04lb). But otherwise the ride is balanced and sprung enough to handle long rock sections without stinging.
