Dia-Compe 806 review

These dual pivot brakes are essentially a black painted version of the Alhonga, or Tektro 521AG, and the range of drop is 51mm and 69mm, making them perfect for older style bikes.

Look crude but highly effective and great value

These dual pivot brakes are essentially a black painted version of the Alhonga, or Tektro 521AG, and the range of drop is 51mm and 69mm, making them perfect for older style bikes that have a greater than average distance between the brake bridge and the rim's braking surface.

The central fitting bolt is threaded for nutted fitment only but it could be cut down and used on modern frames with an allen key mounting for the brakes. They have much better stopping power than period sidepull brakes that have a similarly long reach.
