This is one of the cheaper multi-pot brakes. Sequential contact of the six cylinders means smooth delivery of power, and the big lever and braided hose let you really haul the brake on to compensate for average torque. It wasn’t outstanding on the dyno, fading fast as heat built up, but it’s unlikely to overheat in the UK.
The IS mount and closed lever clamp mean initial fitting is a pain because the longer calliper is prone to drag on the rotor if not perfectly aligned. Rotor sizes are unique at 170mm front and 150mm rear, and pad availability isn’t widespread. Our long-term sets have also developed a leak if you turn them upside down, although they’ve been trouble-free otherwise. The weight is very high for the power though.
