Funn Drop Out brake review
Heavyweight stopper
GBP £129.99 RRP | USD $202.08 Skip to view dealsPublished:
The Drop Out uses a big hidden hose calliper for impressive power, but it’s rattley and low on modulation for its price, and spares are rare.
The flip-flop lever uses a two-piece clamp with reach adjust on the blade, but starts to rattle quickly. The big egg-shaped calliper runs on a logoed Fear Factor rotor and uses an inside routed hose for protection.
It provides a lot of power under a medium-strength pull on the levers, but loses modulation as you pull harder. It gets hot too, it’s heavy and the hose isn’t angle adjustable. The massive pads are unique as well.
We’d actually recommend Funn’s Drop In brake instead, because it can run Hope pads, it’s 30g lighter, £10 cheaper and although it’s less powerful, offers much more progressive delivery.
