Quad’s Dime Pro is heavy but packs in loads of features, potentially making it a great option if you’re into ﬁne feel fettling. It gets the latest radial style lever and combines a lot of features we’ve seen before on other brakes.
The chunky master cylinder and reach-adjust wheel looks like a Hayes Stroker twisted through 90 degrees, while the little radial bite point adjuster is similar to that on Formula’s old Oro brake. Gold anodising on these bits and the calliper bore caps adds a touch of bling.
We’ve been using this brake regularly for months now and the impressive control and power we felt in the ﬁlth is backed up by above-average results on the dyno, while the wavy pulse rotor helps keep it running clean in even the worst winter conditions. The pads are speciﬁc to Quad but spares are available through any Raleigh dealer – which leaves the high weight of the Dime as our only major niggle.
