EXM150 Launch Control II fork (15mm axle) (10)
DT Swiss have implemented some huge changes to their Launch Control fork platform over the past year. The large rebound adjuster now features 13 indexed and numbered clicks of damping adjustment that has a significant effect, as well as an indexed low speed compression adjuster.
The threshold lever that sits just below the rebound dial offers five positions to choose from, position one being the easiest to blow off and five the hardest. The chassis is stiffer than ever thanks to the Torsion Box design that uses a separate section that’s bonded into the arched matrix design.
On the trail the Launch Control II system couldn’t be easier to use and is a big help on long arduous climbs, as is the total weight of 1.7kg. The stroke is very linear yet supple, so as well as using the full 150mm (5.9mm) of travel, its bump absorption is great.
Our only niggle is that we did find the fork liable to blow through the travel quite rapidly when slammed into square-edged bumps or steep stepped sections.
On the whole, the ride is plush and the flex-free design means the EXM150 can take a beating. Most riders will love the supple, smooth linear action but we’d still like a little more support for harder riding situations.
