Our review

More supportive than before, but there is potential stroke inconsistency, flex in long travel and it's pricy

All Fox’s 32mm stanchion, 650b forks use the same bottom end, which keeps the weight of the TALAS on par for its travel-adjustable category.

The axle (developed in collaboration with Shimano) is the fastest to use, the most secure and the most durable 15mm axle available.

The plush start to the stroke adds succulent small bump traction that helps disguise the visible twist and back-and-forth flex of the chassis. The feeling through the bars and brakes is more approximate than accurate once you start pushing harder, though, and 150mm travel versions we’ve ridden are precarious.

At least the new oil-based travel adjust is smoother and more adjustable than the old air systems.

There’s now a really firm mid-stroke that lets you really rail round corners hard – even with the three-position CTD damper in the open descend position.

If you’re running higher pressures for your weight/aggression levels, however, it can create a really noticeable lump in its throat after the plush start of the negative spring though. The price is high too.
