Fox 40 RC2 review
Seriously expensive, but super stiff and light with excellent control

Published:
The biggest, stiffest fork in its class, Fox’s 40 is also one of the lightest and most race-friendly. The massive 40mm stanchions lock down steering like no other fork, making it king of off-cambers, yet the titanium coil springs keep it impressively light.
Changes to the FIT damping cartridge reduce the overly linear, prone-to-bottoming-out performance of previous models. Control at the rebound/ compression turnaround is superb, and high and low speed compression are easily adjustable via dials under the ‘dustbin’ protection cap.
The only major bad point is the cost, but impressive reliability makes it a worthwhile investment.
