The 44 is a new series for Marzocchi, but this version delivers the simple but dependable performance that ‘Zocchi fans have always relied on.
It takes a while to smooth out and get the succulent damping ﬂowing, but the single low-pressure air spring takes most mid-sized things in its stride.
Initial sensitivity or deep impact response is relatively clunky though and while rebound is adjustable we never needed more than the minimum setting.
The TST2 damping adds a lot of low speed compression as soon as you move from fully open, which effectively makes it an on/off lockout.
Robust build for 120mm of travel means reasonable accuracy for a quick-release fork and it’s run sweetly so far, but it is heavy for its travel.
