Marzocchi’s new Corsa tops out their renewed attack on the XC market with a real race contender that’s tough enough for trail use.
The good news is Marzocchi’s typical small bump suppleness is much in evidence even on this shorter travel 80mm version. This gives excellent traction and control straight from the box. Even big trail hits are surprisingly well handled with the SSV damping kicking in to ensure you don’t rip through the travel when you catch a big rock at top speed. TST 5 compression settings adjust via a remote lever, so you can set up for descending or sprinting from the bars.
Despite aiming at racers it’s mid-weight not superlight, but then the remote isn’t exactly the slightest design around. The chunky legs and lower half mean it steers very predictably however labyrinthine the roots or rocks get, and it’s fine serving as a surefooted general trail fork. Reliability certainly seems excellent after a full winter of wallowing in grit and salt too, and post mount brake attachments means discs are easy to set up. Travel isn’t adjustable so you need to decide if you want 80 or 100mm before you buy.
