everywhere on frames, but Pace are still the only manufacturer using carbon fi bre on suspension forks. 20 years experience shows in big weight and stiffness advantages, too.
Even in bolt thru format it’s still the second lightest fork here (the axle is 60g extra but then so are most QR skewers) but only the Pike beats it (just) on our steering stiffness rig. A fl oating receiver for the bolt thru axle means it doesn’t cramp the fork stroke either, and all hardware is replaceable.
The single air spring is lovely and linear for small mid-size traction/taming right up to an end stroke ramp up for collecting the biggest stuff without breaking your teeth. Compression and rebound are subtle but cover the extremes you need and overall control and fl oated feel is superb.
Threshold on the slap down ‘Launch Control’ is adjustable, but it still tends to pop up unexpectedly on occasion. The big blue rebound adjuster can get knocked round by bushes and stuff, but overall reliability is much better on 07 Pace’s compared to last year. A switch to DT Swiss manufacturing in the summer should improve that even further.
It’s also available in 150mm travel format (£589) and £50 cheaper RC40 coil versions. too.
