Basic suspension but a tough, usefully versatile and generally reliable option

Lyrik’s little brother Domain is a solid, adjustable 152mm (6in) all-rounder at a decent price.

The 318 uses the same bottom end, alloy steerer and crown as Lyrik, which means it’s a tight tracker with Maxle axle convenience. The 35mm stanchions are steel, so it’s heavier than alloy.

External low speed compression and rebound knobs give reasonably smooth control but expect inconsistencies when you start working it hard. Its general reliability actually seems improved by its simplicity though.

The U-Turn travel wind-down adds useful incremental steps from 115mm (4.5in) to 160mm (6.3in), although there are no tidemarks on the leg to track where you’re at.

Fixed travel versions are £389, and there are 1.5in steerer options too.
