Society is the new high value brand from the hardcore house of ID (Identiti, Halo and so on), and this sturdy beast is a great budget fork.
It’s certainly impressive structurally, with the low slung 80 or 100mm travel units using 36mm legs and a deep crown. It comes with inserts for either a 9mm bolted skewer or a 20mm bolt through axle to give maximum steering stiffness.
Our early batch fork had some nasty spiky traits, but our second sample has an impressively smooth stroke from the coil spring.
It’s designed as a big slam fork, because even with a firm spring you need at least some supplementary air spring pressure to stop the rebound feeling too slow.
It has to be a top value, super stiff contender.
