Crazy light race exotica, but limited adjustment and flexy, too

Now Spinner is coming out of the kitchen with a bang. The ultra light Aeris is the lightest fork we’ve ever tested by nearly 100g, thanks to an exotic materials list of titanium, magnesium and scandium, and a minimalist hole-filled structure. As you’d expect for the weight and spidery design, it’s not very stiff in steering or braking terms.

To be fair, it’s not designed as a tough terrain fork, but you’ll soon learn to compensate for most of its wayward ways on less challenging trails. The stroke is reasonably smooth and controlled, but the ‘SPUL’ damping is non adjustable, so you’re screwed if you don’t run average spring pressure. We couldn’t get more than 65mm of the claimed 80mm travel either, although the price will certainly bottom most wallets.
