A great development from the G2. We’re seriously impressed

The original G2 is one of our favourite chainguides, and this G2SL version shows some promising developments. Its weight has been reduced to 185g, possibly thanks to the refined, less chunky feel than the previous version. The SL certainly looks sleeker and the various colour options should keep the masses happy too.

The top guide is now smaller but still provides faultless guiding. The lower guide is also a lot more compact and stronger than its predecessor. The taco-type bashguard has a honeycomb structure, and has resisted multiple impacts well, whereas we'd have worried about cracking the previous version.

Fitting the G2SL was super quick and easy, with no issues or clearance problem. MRP have clearly done a thorough job with the backplate design and the guide as a whole runs really quietly and with no resistance whatsoever. It’s a competitive price too.
