While Shimano’s Tiagra crankset gets the Hollowtech 2 treatment for 2007, Campagnolo sees fit to retain the tried and trusted but recalcitrant taper axle system on this Xenon crank.
The outer chainring has pinned and ramped teeth to optimise shifting performance, but we’d replace the inner steel chainring at some point to save weight.
The pinned and profiled teeth help the chain to shift smoothly between chainrings, and while the satin black painted finish is prone to chips, it can be touched up easily.
