Tough, versatile arms, great rings and the best BB ever

Middleburn has been quietly turning out beautifully sculpted cranks for well over a decade, and revisiting its retro cranks proves they're still better than most.

For a start the RS7 lifetime materials warranty even covers DH, trials and jumping and we know several powerful riders who swear by 'em. The interchangeable splined spiders come in four or five arm triple, dedicated double, single or singlespeed uno designs, in a wide range of anodized colours. RS8 is 25g lighter but with only an XC warranty. The standard Slickshift chainrings are smooth and long lasting. They also come in a square taper version compatible with BBs like Shimano's long lived UN-72 or Royce Ti axled exotica (£115). They're a bit harder to fit and more flexy than external units but they last far, far longer.
