The Hone crankset is the second generation to utilise Shimano’s HollowTech II system and it’s aimed at the expanding ‘all mountain’ genre.
The Hone features an external/integrated bottom bracket system that’s very straightforward to fit to any bike. This adds a rigid feel to the crankset and, providing the bottom bracket is properly faced, it’ll endure a good thrashing.
The crank arms feel stiff and confidence-inspiring and the 911g (175mm version) weight is impressive, too. Various chainring combinations are available so they permit all kinds of riding.
