The Hone crankset is the second generation to utilise Shimano's HollowTech II system and it's aimed at the expanding 'all mountain' genre. The Hone features an external/integrated bottom bracket system that's very straightforward to fit to any bike.

Our review
It's built to take a good thrashing but it's still very affordable

The Hone crankset is the second generation to utilise Shimano's HollowTech II system and it's aimed at the expanding 'all mountain' genre.

The Hone features an external/integrated bottom bracket system that's very straightforward to fit to any bike. This adds a rigid feel to the crankset and, providing the bottom bracket is properly faced, it'll endure a good thrashing.

The crank arms feel stiff and confidence-inspiring and the 911g (175mm version) weight is impressive, too. Various chainring combinations are available so they permit all kinds of riding.
