Comfortable, grippy and durable

Renthal’s Lock-On grips might have taken a couple of years to develop, but that time was put to good use and the wait has been well worth it. Although there are four different grip compounds in the range, we opted to put the Kevlar option through its paces – it’s an all-rounder.

The integrated, machined lock-on collars mean there’s zero play between the grip itself and the collars, which you can sometimes get from modular lock-on units. It makes for a nice, innovative touch.

What becomes apparent quickly is just how soft and forgiving the Kevlar compound is on the hands, while still boasting our preferred slimline profile. The grip on offer is seriously impressive too, even when wet or when you’ve got muddy gloves after a tumble.

On top of all that, the grips aren’t showing any visible signs of wear after a good few months of solid abuse, including numerous tree-clipping incidents and crashes.
