Super light and strong downhill handlebar

The B-52 is a downhill handlebar but, tipping our scales at 270g for the 31.8mm version, it's amazingly light.

In fact, it weighs less than a conventional aluminium alloy bar without sacrificing strength. This is because the B-52 is made from a mixture of scandium and aluminium, which produces an alloy that can be up to half the weight of traditional aluminium alloy but have up to 50 per cent more tensile (the force required to bend something) and ultimate (the force required to break something) strength.

This bar has a 2in rise, a 28in length and it's available with either a 25.4 or 31.8mm diameter. I've been using B-52s on my downhill rig and my Santa Cruz Blur 4X long-term bike for ages now, and I love them.

The bar is light, it has a great feel that's not as aggressive as other Azonic bars and it's got the whole clever tech thing going on.
