Our review
A spendy steering upgrade with potential for a longer life than the competition

You can’t see the carbon and Kevlar composite that sets FSA’s new K-Force bar apart from the rest, as it’s buried underneath a cosmetic wrap of carbon weave.

It’s purported to improve durability while keeping weight down to a reasonable 174g for the 18mm rise version we tested (a 25mm rise version is also available). At 660mm it’s not the widest bar out there but there’s just enough width to avoid a cramped cockpit.

We’re not convinced reinforcement for bar ends is necessary on a riser bar, but appreciate the extra work that’s gone into strengthening the brake/shift lever clamp section and textured 31.8mm stem clamp area, though you’ll still have to take the usual care in fitting and upkeep that lightweight carbon parts require.

FSA’s red and white graphics are lairy in a clean way and the combination of standard nine-degree backsweep and four-degree upsweep feels reassuringly normal.
