Good anatomic shape but carbon bars aren't good value

These Pro-Lite carbon bars create a short, fairly upright riding position, and the flat top section provides a large surface area for your hands.

The internal cable routing does away with the need for handlebar tape to bind the cables, so the carbon weave can be shown off to good effect.

Unfortunately, the cable channels are a bit too long so they create an acute bend for the cable that causes friction. This is less of a problem with Campagnolo levers, but the friction delays the brake levers’ return to their resting place. Cranking up the return spring tension – if you can– on the brake calliper arms helps.

Fitting is straightforward, but with no rough-surface treatment to prevent slipping, the levers had to be tightened firmly.

The Ravenna is no lighter than several aluminium bars we’ve tested at less than half the price, but if you’re after a good looking, stiff bar you won’t be disappointed.

Available widths: 40, 42, 44cm (centre to centre)
