This French firm have been using roller bearing headsets for decades and their top O’Light model tested here has a more modern appearance than their venerable A9 type. The O’Light uses contact lip seals that are moulded into the edge of the needle-bearing tapered cage to provide a good level of protection from moisture. However, it pays to check the bearings from time to time because the grease has a tendency to migrate from the surface of the rollers. The total stack height is 20.5mm and the price includes a star washer. It’s available in 1in and 1 1/8in diameters.
