Our review
These come at an excellent price and are easy to use

The Smarty combines Crank Brothers' distinctive four- sided design with a resin platform for extra support. It's a design that finds favour with mountain bikers, commuters and tourers and for £35 it offers exceptional value coming in at a surprisingly low weight. The four-sided engagement revolves inside the dual-sided platform to make clipping in as easy as release, and the extra support of the platform improves comfort, especially on softer, more flexible-soled shoes.

The brass cleats wear well and have 6° of float with the option of a 15° or 20° release angle. The cleats are designed for soled SPD shoes (additional cleats are available for road-specific shoes) and this makes them an ideal choice for touring and commuting. They also come with interchangeable colour tabs for the pedal body, just so you can colour coordinate! Jez Loftus
