DMR has taken its hugely successful Vault flat pedal and put it on a serious diet. The magnesium body and, in the case of this Superlight model, titanium axle, mean the new version sheds nearly 100g over the standard pedal, weighing in at an impressive 299g for the pair. The size of the platform and the grip the Vault delivers remain seriously impressive too.
After no shortage of rock scrapes, our test pedals are still spinning smoothly, and though battered, they’re holding up just fine. Yes, the price is hard to stomach, but there’s also a cheaper chromoly axle version if the Superlights are pushing the boat out a little too far.
