Our review
The bearings last and the bodies are super strong. A great pedal

Easton Flatboys are no-fluff flat pedals with enough race-winning heritage to allay any performance fears. While not the lightest, they are surely the toughest and most trusted.

The 6061 alloy-bodied, steel-axle Flatboy was one of the first really functional modern flat pedals. Used by top racer Brian Lopes and Team Intense, they are probably still the holder of more flat pedal race wins in downhill and four cross than any other.

The fact that they remain largely unchanged in 15 years should tell you plenty about the performance from these gently concaved, eight-pin-per-side pedals.

The Flatboys are particularly good for riders with large feet because they’re a bit wider than the other flat pedals available.

Even if you don’t have large feet, big pedals can be useful, especially if you’re in steep technical terrain where you’ll be glad of every extra millimetre of contact with the bike.

They’re not as light as the Syncros or as smooth-rolling as, say, the DMRs, but it’s still very hard not to grab the Flatboy from the crowd when we need a flat pedal that we can totally trust to do the job properly.
