Exustar EPS-R E-PR101 review

Exustar EPS-R E-PR101 review

The Exustar PR101 is based on Look's KéO design and the cleats will work in either pedal. They say imitation is the highest form of flattery and the PR101s have done a good job.

A find imitation of the Look KéO system and at a competitive price

The Exustar PR101 is based on Look's KéO design and the cleats will work in either pedal. They say imitation is the highest form of flattery and the PR101s have done a good job. The chromoly-axle Exustars aren't as light as Look's KéO Carbon, but they come at half the price and are a quality choice for the money. They look very smart and are available in either silver or metallic grey (pictured).

Release tension is adjustable and going for a KéO-style cleat also brings the height down to 16mm. The axles are very smooth and the sealed needle bearing and bushing axle can be removed from the pedal body using a Shimano axle removal tool for easy servicing. We've been using Exustar's dual-sided SPD/Look binding (C 181) and have been very impressed with the overall quality; the PR101s look set to follow suit. The only problem is whether to go for the genuine Look or opt for an impressive replication.
